Peggy's Patch:
Now that the times of summer fun are over, my creative juices are beginning to flow. This summer we enjoyed picnics, relaxing walks in the warm summer evenings with the goats and dogs, baseball games, family reunions and many more fun filled activities. Our garden is now put away for the winter and we are almost ready with the winter preps for all the animals.
Last week I pulled out all my quilting material and fondled it one more time. The same with my bead stash. Christmas is coming up fast and this year I was going to give everyone something that I had crafted myself. Design Originals just sent us their 4 new quilting books, so I am now really inspired.
As far as the beading, we have a new publisher that we have been working with and they have some terrific books to offer beaders. The newest “Making Beautiful Jewelry” combines other crafts as well as beads in its creations. A very clever book with a lot of ideas. In this time of economic uncertainty, handcrafted jewelry makes a great gift no matter what your expertise. Check the books out on the website as Design Original also has some new books and is going digital with some of them.
Many of you have asked about how Rick’s mother is doing. She is doing fine. It has been a good thing for Rick to be free to spend more time with her. He has also been working part time with a contractor and lost 30 pounds with all the hard work he’s been doing. It has been nice to have him home to also help with some of the heavier work here. He is celebrating his 60th birthday on October 26th, but is still working like a 19 year old. What a man!!!
Tina, Trista, and Sandra have kept the ball rolling with the company. Rick and I appreciate all three of them and the great job they are doing. I thought it would be hard for me to let go of the helm to Tina, but it has been a good thing. She’s quite capable. I now have time to do the things that I love to do as well as do my part of the business in between. I am just getting back to work after a month off, relaxed and ready to work
Check out my blog for details on the animals. I have 42 rabbits of all ages as of today’s count. Next week I’m expecting to increase that by 2 litters of at least 8 each. This weekend 9 go into the freezer. You do the math.
Don’t forget…the importers run out of red, green, gold, silver and sometimes blues usually the beginning of November and don’t get more until just before or after Christmas. Get yours early!!!!
